Anniversaries
Here are a selection of wedding anniversary poems.

April
In April, blossoms fall from trees
Like snowflakes, see the petals whirl
On the breeze, a thousand dancers
Make their spiralling journey down.
Perhaps two petals, springing from
Neighbouring branches, meet mid-air
And continue on together
Carried by the breath of the wind.

The treasure hoard
Like tree-bark, silver coats the outermost parts,
Filigree laid upon precious materials.
Seen through the lattice,
Glimpses of turquoise and crystal
Embedded in china, inlaid in ivory
Wrought in bronze, steel and tin.
Round about, the softer strands of lace
And silk, cushioning gleaming ceramics,
Held by pliable willow rods.
A shining piece of copper, untarnished
Nestled in a hunk of wool, with a tiny casket,
Apple-wood, enclosing pure white sugar.
A garland of flowers, unfading, adorns a simple
Leather pouch, wrapped around a wad of cotton.
Inside, most precious of all the treasure hoard:
With two names inscribed in silver upon it, paper.

Round
The corkscrew turns, you listen as
Wine is poured, relax to the sound
Of dark red bubbling in your glass.
The corkscrew turns, you listen as
The stories make the evening pass,
And, sharing life, laughter abounds.
The corkscrew turns, you listen as
Wine is poured, relax to the sound.

Globetrotters
Standing side by side, toes in a row,
With eyes full, tongues still for now,
They rest in the early morning sun
Remembering the path long trodden.
Hills, dales, lakes and rivers
Mountains, cliff-top trails
Coldness of rains and sweat of summers,
Over bridges, behind waterfalls.
If they had breath to make their tired tongues swell,
What memories, what stories would these boots tell?
